Creative Collisions: LATRA’s latest EU-funded project

2021 started with a blast for LATRA, as we were notified that our project Creative Collisions has just been granted funding by the EU-funded Erasmus+ Programme. Following the revision of the Erasmus+ 2020 Annual Work Programme announced in August 2020, two new Eramsus+ calls were launched on 25 August 2020. They each provide €100 million to respond to the educational challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The project Creative Collisions was submitted in the call for ‘partnerships for creativity’ which will support projects in the fields of youth, school education and adult education. The call aims to develop skills and competences that encourage creativity and boost quality, innovation and recognition of youth work. 

CREATIVE COLLISIONS is a project harnessing the full potential of non-formal science education, culture and the arts, to equip diverse cross-generational learners between 15-30 years of age with a range of competences which empower them to systematically address current and future large-scale societal and environmental challenges transversing our European community. 

This will be achieved through novel blended learning residencies in unique settings across Europe, bringing together cohorts of learners and job seekers in direct collaboration with communities of practice in the arts, culture, science and research, to create long-term creative partnerships as drivers for job creation, economic growth, improved social cohesion, as well as a means to experience, accept and engage European identity in all its diversity.

The project is coordinated by Fondazione Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia, Science Gallery Venice – Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia (IT) with the participation of Trinity College Dublin, Science Gallery Dublin (IE), Materahub Industrie Culturali e Creative (IT), Youth Bridges Budapest (HU),  and LATRA (GR).
